Original public-data analysis · latest analyzed monthly snapshot

SAM Registration Pulse — July 2026

What the public monthly SAM entity extract contained on July 5, 2026: status, expiration windows, location and primary NAICS — plus the multi-CAGE relationships lost when a directory keeps only one row per UEI.

Dated snapshot, not live status. These counts describe the July 5, 2026 extract. They do not say whether a specific registration is active today. Use the lookup or the official SAM.gov record for a current vendor check.

GSA says the monthly public file contains publicly displayed active entity records plus records that expired in the prior six months. It is not a count of all SAM records, unique parent companies, award recipients, or “active contractors.” Read the official extract definition.

Change since the May 3 baseline

Compared with the May 3, 2026 public extract, the July 5, 2026 file had these net aggregate differences. Counts use the same generator and definitions in both snapshots.

What the deltas do not prove: two aggregate snapshots do not establish entity-level churn, entry, exit or renewal. The 90-day cohorts also move with each snapshot date. Measuring those events requires matching individual records across periods and accounting for the extract's public-display boundary.

The 30 / 60 / 90-day expiration pipeline

Among 791,816 distinct UEIs marked A in the July 5, 2026 file, 148,925 had an expiration date within the next 90 calendar days. This is a dated cohort, not evidence that those registrations later lapsed; an entity may have renewed after the snapshot.

Identity-model finding

One UEI does not always mean one CAGE code

The raw extract contained 793,403 distinct UEI–CAGE associations. 3,481 UEIs were tied to more than one non-empty CAGE code; the largest observed set had 81. That matters for company-name lookup: the user still has to identify the legal entity and facility relevant to the transaction.

UEIs with any CAGE
Union across every source row.
3,481
multi-CAGE UEIs
More than one distinct CAGE.
81
maximum CAGEs per UEI
Observed in this dated file.

CAGE is location-sensitive. A single flat “entity” card can therefore hide facility associations. CageCheck preserves those mappings, but name matches remain candidates to validate, not automatic identity proof. Confirm a consequential match in the official DLA CAGE Search.

Methodology and limits

Source and boundary checks

The generator streams the PUBLIC V2 file, requires matching BOF/EOF metadata, validates all 893,254 declared rows, 142 columns, row end markers and UEI shape, and records the source SHA-256.

Unit of analysis

Status, geography and primary NAICS use one deterministic first row per distinct UEI. Duplicate UEIs did not conflict on those fields. CAGE metrics union all rows so secondary facility codes are not discarded.

What this cannot show

Two aggregate snapshots show net differences, not entity-level churn or renewal. Status A/E is quoted as present in each dated file. “Activation,” “update” and “expiration” are not silently relabeled as renewal events.

Exclusions deliberately omitted

This source load did not include a verified daily public exclusions extract. We publish no debarment or exclusions aggregate and do not turn a missing dataset into a “clear” result.

Download and reproduce

The download contains aggregate counts only — no names, UEIs, CAGE codes or addresses. Re-running the checked-in generator against the same source file produces byte-identical JSON and CSV outputs.
