UEI lookup

Look up a UEI and check the SAM.gov record

Paste a Unique Entity ID to verify whether the SAM.gov registration is active, when it expires, which CAGE code is attached, and whether public exclusions are present.

SAM.gov registration and renewal are FREE at sam.gov. The U.S. Government never charges you to register, renew, or update a SAM.gov registration.

CageCheck is an independent, privately operated service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Government, the General Services Administration (GSA), SAM.gov, or any government agency. The official registry is at sam.gov.

What the UEI unlocks

The UEI is the cleanest key for a public SAM.gov record. It lets you verify registration status, expiration, CAGE code, physical location, NAICS/PSC profile and active exclusions.

When to re-check

Re-check before onboarding, before bid submission, before payment and again near expiration. SAM registrations lapse every 365 days if they are not renewed.

Common questions

How do I look up a UEI?+

Enter the 12-character Unique Entity ID in the checker. CageCheck resolves the public SAM.gov record and shows the registration status, expiration date, CAGE code, exclusions and capability profile.

Is a UEI the same as a DUNS number?+

No. The UEI replaced DUNS as the federal government's primary entity identifier in SAM.gov. A UEI is 12 alphanumeric characters and is assigned through SAM.gov.

Is UEI lookup free?+

Yes. Looking up public SAM.gov status here is free, and SAM.gov registration or renewal is always free at sam.gov. CageCheck is independent and not affiliated with SAM.gov.
